Steeped in History

Baiting Brook Farm is situated in the historic Sudbury River Valley that includes Concord where Paul Revere galloped to ignite the American Revolution and the town of Sudbury where luminaries of the 18th century, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Henry David Thoreau and Henry Wadsworth Longfellow dined less than three miles from Baiting Brook Farm at the Wayside Inn, the oldest continuous restaurant and Inn in America welcoming guests since 1716.

Preservation

With our historic location comes a responsibility to preserve our history and conserve our land and natural resources. We have designed an ecological footprint that limits housing density to protect our environment and the privacy of our community residents. Baiting Brook Farm is a collaboration between local farmer Doug Stephan and developer Greg Cohen after Stephan vowed he would not develop his nearby farm for housing or other development but would work with a local developer to build low-density housing on a neighboring site to respond to housing demand without disrupting a local working farm.
